StyleCrush's Food for Thought - Kimye Vogue Cover

Since Kanye West and Kim Kardshaian announced they were dating in 2012, they have quickly become the world's most talked about couple. From the arrival of their first child North to that proposal, it would be difficult to argue against the fact that Kimye have kept the world talking.

While Kanye West is widely known for the success of his music production credits and successful albums, Kim and her family were led into stardom following the success of their reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. And given the reason behind Kim's popularity, many have argued that a reality star should have not been permitted to grace the cover of a prestigious magazine such as US Vogue.

Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar was one of many who were far from pleased with the Kimye feature

The cover which featured the couple in marital atire sparked outrage among fans, with many convinced that Kanye begged Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour for the honour who was quick to shut down these allegations. From US Weekly's editors letter she writes: "As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancee on Vogue's cover. He did nothing of the sort," she added. "The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn't true."

While Kim is widely known for her reality star status, her style accolades make it difficult for her fashion credibility to be disputed.

Kim founded the DASH boutique along with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe in 2005 and has since opened stores in West Hollywood, Miami Beach, New York, and Florida.

Since Vogue is a fashion based magazine it can also be argued that she is being honoured for just that...
